If you’re serious about being the next Tony Hsieh, the man who just sold Zappos for around $1 Billion dollar to Amazon, then you need to understand the mindset of a venture capitalist (VC). An excellent starting point is the blog Both Sides of the Table, written by Mark Suster.
Mark has built and sold two technology companies and is now investing as a VC. With this background, he is able to provide insightful tips for business owners and entrepreneurs, Mark’s writing style is straight forward and matter of fact.
If you are working for someone else and are looking to move up the corporate ladder, this blog is still a great read. It gives you the point of view from a senior management perspective.
This week Mark gave a detailed discussion about the shrinkage in the VC industry. It was dead-on accurate.
He also did an interview with Rick Smith, founder of Crosscut Ventures. However, in the first half, he gave some key information about what VCs look at when they analyze a company.
Check out the rest of Mark’s post here.
