Art on a Shoestring – Dancing in Air
Living art is one of those things that are worth investing in because the experience stays with us for all our lives.
There are many ways to add beauty and pleasure every day without costing much. Although the artistic community have taken hits from the recession, there are still some free performances out there by exceptional artists.
Project Bandaloop will be coming to the Orange County Performing Arts Center on September 30, October 1st and 2nd. This is an innovative dance company that performs outdoor in the air on public structures and natural formations such as cliffs. They combined dance and aerial skills into one harmonious tableau.
As a former ballet dancer and rock climber, I can vouch that these dancers are among the best conditioned and trained that I’ve seen. They make the performances look effortless but the hours of training and practice to create that for the audience are immense.
All the performances are at 8:30 PM PST and will be performed outside. There is no cost to the audience. You simply need to bring a blanket and a sense of wonder.
Here’s a sample of Project Bandaloop.
