How expensive is luxury?
Recently several women in a forum were cooing over the bathtub below. They thought it was amazing. None could afford to buy the tub but they were planning to look for something similar that they could get for their house.
This bathtub was carved out of a piece of crystal and costs 530,000 British pounds (translation – $842,000). Personally I thought the tub looked uncomfortable and there is no way that I would pay money for it, especially at that price.
Must luxury cost $842,000, or even the $10,000 it would cost them to build an imitation tub?
We all need luxury in our lives. Luxury creates memories that are exceptional but you need to define what your idea of luxury. True luxury is beyond price.
Luxury can be an hour spent in conscious enjoyment of your child’s company. It can be relaxing on the beach and absorbing the sun while feeling the breeze caress your skin. It can be one orgasmic bite of chocolate that you savor.
Can luxury be as simple and inexpensive as being hugged and kissed as you watch the sunset with your partner? I think wearing a cotton shirt on a warm summer’s evening can be luxurious.
Define luxury on your own terms. Listen to your needs. What do you really enjoy or want?
Find the inexpensive little luxuries in your life, and then live like royalty–while staying within your budget.
